If you buy from an online store, please make sure the store looks very professional and credible. I didn't realize that Adobe was going to kill GoLive. I assumed they¡¯d keep the products separate to make more money. I¡¯m glad that only one will survive because, I¡¯m sure, in an effort to cut costs both products would suffer w/o the competition to make them better. Internet changed our lives. Most people know how to read and send emails. Emails are hundreds or thousands time faster than paper mail. An email takes seconds to arrive while a paper mail takes days. The company I work for wants to update their site. From what I¡¯ve researched purchasing either of the above programs will help me get something up sooner than straight coding and with a better result than using Microdevil¡¯s FrontPage. As far as a learning curve is concerned, which would you recommend? Please discuss interface and editing in your responses. Which is better, you ask. They both have strong and weak points. I started out with Dream weaver and then eventually switched to Golive, mainly because all the adobe products (photo shop, image ready, golive, etc) talk to each other while designing. So it just makes things easier. They make you dependent on proprietary software to both manage and build your sites, when html, css, etc, can be just as easily edited with a nice text editor. The result is cleaner, more portable code, and a far stronger understanding of what you are doing. I have become a much better webmaster and designer since I stopped depending on the software to do it for me. Not only that it¡¯s pretty pointless to have a spar of words when so many people in this forum already know our intentions. I think the general consensus is we don¡¯t shut down new designers and we do help but this is no attempt to justify us. For most of your shopping, you don't need to pay the otherwise very expensive sales tax. You may need to pay the shipping though. But most of the time, the shipping cost less than the tax. Maybe nobody think people can shop online 20 years ago. But today, almost everybody do that. You can buy everything on the internet because you can sell everything on the internet. What is the advantage of the internet business via the local business? One advantage is the sales tax. When considering a web hosting, a few things is important. No.1 is the reliability. Some hosting companies are not reliable. The might deleted your store without notification someday. And you might lost your business. The second is the speed. If the server is slow, it will drive your customers mad and they will not buy. |
