How does the internet work? Internet is like the phone networks. You pick up a phone and dial a number, the phone on the other side rings. The internet is the same thing. The phone now is the computer or anything with an IP.

Since more and more people are having their own sites. Not everybody would like to run a server. Actually it is not necessary to run a server for a business. Most online businesses have their store hosted in web hosting companies.

I wasn¡¯t the author of this thread, nor would I have started it! I have been in many discussions regarding this topic and since both of the Softwares in question continue to upgrade AND the two are now under one roof I think it is a VALID TOPIC. Were not just talking about which one is better.

There is a rule of thumb regarding the forum culture. If you see a thread that you are not interested in, just ignore it. If you have some information that might be helpful to the author then apply some content. That¡¯s why I was anxious to see if Ryan¡¯s comments had any value.

You don't have to make that choice next year cause Macromedia was bought by Adobe, and Go-Live is now...well dead seeing it will be getting the axe next release it is better to invest and learn dream weaver, you'll also save money on the future upgrades...and since go live will be dying, you'd need to jump to dream weaver at some point anyway.

Way to tell the veterans how to post on their own forums. There is also a reason that old threads still exist, why they have a search feature, and why after seeing these threads popup all the time, it really gets annoying. Both programs are ass.

The company I work for wants to update their site. From what I¡¯ve researched purchasing either of the above programs will help me get something up sooner than straight coding and with a better result than using Microdevil¡¯s  FrontPage. What should we avoid when shopping online? First, try to buy products from sellers with good reputation. When you buy on ebay, make sure to buy from sellers with an overall good rating. Usually good sellers should have an overall more than 95% positive feedbacks.

If you buy from a seller with 0 feedbacks, you need to be very careful. Fraud exists everywhere, online or offline. If you buy from an online store, please make sure the store looks very professional and credible.

Overall I agree with Ulysses. But your navigation bar starts of lined up with that grey bar over the white box and then continues on to float into nothingness (It looked like it was supported by the grey bar and then, weee we're floating in space!).

You might also play around with your grid a bit more and get more things lining up (i.e. "donate" button gets hacked in two by the vertical line below it) things like that.

Also, not sure if the body type should be serif as everything else is san-serif. You probably also have to make the text at least 12 pts. (it might be I just can't tell cause its a reduced picture) for the old people (sigh. ruining all the fun with small text).

Going to buy an html editor, in order to make myself even more indispensable at work. I know a little and am currently reading a few books to help the process along, but I want to accelerate the curve.

Dream weaver may eventually be "forced to do things slightly different" as Adobe modifies the application conform to its interface standards, but NPD expects Adobe will ¡°reduce the pain¡± for the Dream weaver customer by offering Quark XPress keyboard shortcuts and more.

GoLive customers may see the product sold to another vendor, according to NPD. Not only would Dream weaver replace GoLive as Adobe's Web site creation package, but FTC regulations will likely require the sale of GoLive. "While future versions of GoLive will no doubt still be appealing to designers, the eventual integration of Dream weaver with other Adobe programs, not to mention Dream weaver¡¯s inclusion in future versions of Creative Suite, will entice many users to make the switch."
