Free! Way to tell the veterans how to post on their own forums. There is also a reason that old threads still exist, why they have a search feature, and why after seeing these threads popup all the time, it really gets annoying. Both programs are ass. NPD predicts that Photoshop and Dream weaver customers will be least affected by the merger, as these products will remain largely intact. In the short run, the customer using both Photoshop and Dream weaver "won¡¯t need to do anything differently." Internet changed our lives. Most people know how to read and send emails. Emails are hundreds or thousands time faster than paper mail. An email takes seconds to arrive while a paper mail takes days. Later, this customer will "probably be able to buy a single suite of tools from Adobe, resulting in significant cost savings." Over the long run, Adobe will likely "offer this customer a suite of tightly integrated solutions, built on an ever increasing number of core technologies and common user interface elements." When considering a web hosting, a few things is important. No.1 is the reliability. Some hosting companies are not reliable. The might deleted your store without notification someday. And you might lost your business. The second is the speed. If the server is slow, it will drive your customers mad and they will not buy. What should we avoid when shopping online? First, try to buy products from sellers with good reputation. When you buy on ebay, make sure to buy from sellers with an overall good rating. Usually good sellers should have an overall more than 95% positive feedbacks. For most of your shopping, you don't need to pay the otherwise very expensive sales tax. You may need to pay the shipping though. But most of the time, the shipping cost less than the tax. Which is better, you ask. They both have strong and weak points. I started out with Dream weaver and then eventually switched to Golive, mainly because all the adobe products (photo shop, image ready, golive, etc) talk to each other while designing. So it just makes things easier. Having a good design is important for a store. When people are pleased with the looking of the stores, they are more likely to buy. But good design is not essential for a business. The most important part is good products and services. Since more and more people are having their own sites. Not everybody would like to run a server. Actually it is not necessary to run a server for a business. Most online businesses have their store hosted in web hosting companies. I wasn¡¯t the author of this thread, nor would I have started it! I have been in many discussions regarding this topic and since both of the Softwares in question continue to upgrade AND the two are now under one roof I think it is a VALID TOPIC. Were not just talking about which one is better. The company I work for wants to update their site. From what I¡¯ve researched purchasing either of the above programs will help me get something up sooner than straight coding and with a better result than using Microdevil¡¯s FrontPage. As far as a learning curve is concerned, which would you recommend? Please discuss interface and editing in your responses. |
