Free! Having a good design is important for a store. When people are pleased with the looking of the stores, they are more likely to buy. But good design is not essential for a business. The most important part is good products and services. The web is different from the internet. Internet is the physical network of the computers. The web is the site and pages where people can visit and view to gain information or perform activities. They make you dependent on proprietary software to both manage and build your sites, when html, css, etc, can be just as easily edited with a nice text editor. The result is cleaner, more portable code, and a far stronger understanding of what you are doing. I have become a much better webmaster and designer since I stopped depending on the software to do it for me. Since more and more people are having their own sites. Not everybody would like to run a server. Actually it is not necessary to run a server for a business. Most online businesses have their store hosted in web hosting companies. Internet was created in the 70s as a military project. It started as about 3 computers at that time. Right now there are millions of machines on the internet. Way to tell the veterans how to post on their own forums. There is also a reason that old threads still exist, why they have a search feature, and why after seeing these threads popup all the time, it really gets annoying. Both programs are ass. Not only that it¡¯s pretty pointless to have a spar of words when so many people in this forum already know our intentions. I think the general consensus is we don¡¯t shut down new designers and we do help but this is no attempt to justify us. International mails even take weeks. Beside how fast emails are, emails saves a huge amount of paper, which in turn saves a lot of trees in the world. Maybe not a lot of people notice, but emails gave us more fresh air. NPD predicts that Photoshop and Dream weaver customers will be least affected by the merger, as these products will remain largely intact. In the short run, the customer using both Photoshop and Dream weaver "won¡¯t need to do anything differently." With the internet growing, we can do almost everything online. Has grandma been online yet? Probably yes. Grandma now can shopping online, playing games online or even date online. With the approving of the techniques, patients can not meet doctors online. That save the cost of the medical operations and will lower the medical cost. The saving will in turn improve the heal care of people in the world. Hopefully, doctors can perform operations remotely in the near future. Which is better, you ask. They both have strong and weak points. I started out with Dream weaver and then eventually switched to Golive, mainly because all the adobe products (photo shop, image ready, golive, etc) talk to each other while designing. So it just makes things easier. Dream weaver may eventually be "forced to do things slightly different" as Adobe modifies the application conform to its interface standards, but NPD expects Adobe will ¡°reduce the pain¡± for the Dream weaver customer by offering Quark XPress keyboard shortcuts and more. |
