Catholic family gift

It's hard to give a catholic family gift. Because it's hard to find what somebody else really like. And it's even harder to find someone likes and don't cost you a fortune.

Chinese people sometimes like to give expensive catholic family gifts. Chinese people think the more expensive catholic family gift they give, the more they care. That's actually not a good habit. A great catholic family gift should be expressing your thought and not costing a fortune.

Chinese calligraphy are different from other calligraphy works. Chinese calligraphy is painted by special calligraphy paper (Xuan paper), special brush and special ink.

Chinese calligraphy come from writing Chinese characters. The Chinese characters come from the painting. At the very beginning, people have an intuition about writing Chinese characters well.

Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.

I will sing a new song unto thee, O upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

Chinese calligraphy are popular in China for thousands of years. People decorate rooms with Chinese calligraphy just like painting.

And outside of the rooms, you can see Chinese calligraphy works in tablets and sign of shops everywhere in China. In China, it's an unwritten regulation to have good Chinese calligraphers to write notes, signs and anything of events, small or big.

Chinese calligraphy are never been more popular in the western world. I met some people who practiced Chinese calligraphy for years and loved it, without even knowing what the characters meaning.

But later, as they found that Chinese characters have something more than just a good looking, Chinese calligraphy was born. The invention of Chinese brushes greatly pushed the development of Chinese calligraphy as an art.

The greatest Chinese calligrapher Wang Xizhi improved his calligraphy a lot after he traveled from south part of China to the north. He said later that it is kind of waste of time to only study Mrs. Wei's calligraphy.

It is he that giveth salvation unto who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.
