Grandmother means mother of father or mother. In Chinese mother of your father is called Nai Nai. Mother of your mother is called Lao Lao or Wai Po.

In English, uncle means the brother of your father or mother. But in Chinese, brothers of your father or mother are made very clear. If a person is an elder brother of your father, you should call him Bo Fu or Da Ye. If a person is a younger brother of your father, you should call him Shu Shu.

In English, ant means the sister of your father or mother. In Chinese, sister of your father should be called Gu. Sister of your mother should be called Yi.

The bride will go to meet the broom's relatives. If the bride know one relative of the broom, she should call the relative the same thing as the broom starting at that moment.

In China, one can not call the name of a family member. For example, you can not call your dad his name. You can only mention his name to other people outside of your family. You can not call your elder sister or brother their name either. In Chinese, elder brother and younger brother are two different words. And the the elder sister and older sister are also two different words.

The reason why Chinese make it so clear is that in the long history of China, there are 2000 years that China is a feudal society. A feudal society is highly hierarchical.

Grandfather means father of mother or father. In Chinese father of your father is called Ye Ye. Father of your mother is called Lao Ye or Wai Gong.
